Z-OUT #1: Florentijn Hofman - De Badeend

The artwork ‘Badeend’ by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman is the first and simultaneously very impressive pilot project of Z-OUT, a new ambitious project centred around art in the public space in Limburg.

From June till October, The gigantic yellow bath duck landed in Hasselt, Genk, Neerpelt, Lommel, Maasmechelen and Oud-Rekem. The amicable bobbing duck knows no borders, and has no cultural or political preferences.

From the very outset, various partners were sought to collaborate on the ‘Badeend’ project. The production is a collaboration between the artist, Z33, the Naval Service, staff members from various offices and organisations, the municipalities, and the Province of Limburg. Z-OUT will continue on this course in the future.
