Lieselot De Wilde sings Hildegard von Bingen

Amber Andrews paid tribute to all women with her mural for Z33’s chapel. No better place to praise all women on Mother’s Day. For the occasion, soprano Lieselot De Wilde drew inspiration from the music of Hildegard von Bingen, the first female composer and influencer avant la lettre.

The German Hildegard von Bingen (1098-1179) was an abbess, mystic, composer. In short, one of the most influential women of the 12th century. She was known for her female image of God and for her visions, which she transformed into music. Soprano Lieselot De Wilde puts her own spin on this classic. In 2021, she won the Flemish Culture Prize Ultima for music. She is an artistic and coordinating member of WALPURGIS.

We bring all this strong female force together in our Chapel, where Amber Andrews’ mural continues in the same vein.
