Lecture - Quality mediation in architecture + arm knitting workshop
Every second Thursday of the month, Z33 opens its doors in the evening. From 6 p.m. you can visit all the exhibitions for free, and we also provide a variety of activities every month. In December, you can come and attend an architecture lecture and a workshop on knitting without needles.
Lecture – Quality mediation in architecture – 7 p.m.
The exhibition Composite Presence shows the richness of architecture in Flanders and Brussels, a result of a year-long policy focusing on quality mediation in various forms. What are the ways of quality mediation and how does it work exactly? During this evening we will let a city architect, a quality chamber and an architect talk about the mediation process that three projects from the expo went through. Peter Vanden Abeele will talk about city building mastery Ghent, Christine de Ruijter from awg architecten about procedure WinVorm and Paul Vermeulen about AGVespa and heritage commission Ostend. The evening’s moderator is Stefan Devoldere – dean of Architecture and Art UHasselt. (NL)
This activity costs 10 euros if you are older than 26, for – 26-year-olds, persons with disabilities, teachers’ card, UitPAS Hasselt and groups from 10 there is a discounted rate of 5 euros. Registration is required, using the form below. All exhibitions are free to visit that evening.

Workshop: Knitting Guild No.3 – 6.30 p.m.
Woman Cave Collective is an artist collective from the exhibition Fitting In. During this workshop you will learn to knit and crochet with them without tools, only with your body. No experience is required. You will create furniture together, by knitting with your arms. The purpose of this furniture is to quickly and easily occupy public spaces by creating hybrid objects between fashion and furniture. Using pre-owned fabrics, during this two-hour workshop you will knit a small piece that can be used as furniture, as a handbag and/or as a rug. Afterwards, you can take your work home! (FR, ENG, NL)
