SuperBodies
The third Hasselt triennal ‘Superbodies’ is built around the theme of the artists’ and designers’ fascination with the way our body unconsciously shapes our experiences.
The exhibition focuses on the body in all its – often half-conscious – actions. Following the extensive interactive exhibition trail we are made to reflect upon our body as a source of all our thoughts and feelings. Upcoming and internationally established artists and designers from different disciplines unravel the mysteries of the body.
The whole city can become a potential stage but the focal point will lie with exhibitions in the big cultural centres, all at walking distance from each other: Cultuurcentrum Hasselt, House for Contemporary Art Z33, The Fashion museum Hasselt, CIAP and the Stadsmus.
Pieter T’Jonck is curator of SuperBodies.
The following artists will show their work at Z33: Deufert & Plischke, Meg Stuart, Boris Charmatz, Matt Mullican, Bernhard Leitner, Anna Oppermann, William Forsythe, Lygia Clark, Ernesto Neto, Sylvia Bossu, Joëlle Tuerlinckx, Marloeke van der Vlugt, Bernd Lohaus, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Ivo Dimchev, Franz West, Eric Joris en Crew & Superamas
