About

Frank Mukunday comes from Lubumbashi, DRC. He is passionate about animated films, and works with numerous Congolese animators on different projects. In 2007 he went into partnership with Tétshim, Angelo Nzeka and Trésor Makonga, with whom he still works today. Tétshim was born in Kinshasa. He has been drawing since he was very young, and as well as making animated films is also an illustrator and cartoonist for newspapers and comics. Frank Mukunday and Tetshim are self-taught artists and produce animation films since 2010. Starting from their respective practices of drawing (Tetshim) and video (Frank), their duo gave birth to the studio “Crayon de cuivre” (copper pencil) in Lubumbashi. After two experimental essays Cailloux and Ku Kinga , Machini is their first film produced with professional means.
