Z33 on the shortlist of the Mies van der Rohe Award

Z33 is in the running to win the prestigious EU Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award 2022. The European Commission and the Fundació Mies van der Rohe announce the 40 works shortlisted to compete for the award.

The European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture or Mies van der Rohe Award is a biennial prize awarded by the European Union and the Fundació Mies van der Rohe for the best qualitative architectural contribution in Europe. Architect Francesca Torzo’s design for the new exhibition wing of Z33 convinced the jury.

This is the edition with the most nominated works: 532 works were nominated for the 2022 award and the seven-member jury has drawn up a shortlist of 40 works that will go to the next stage of the award. From the submissions, the jury will now select five finalists. They will be announced on 16 February 2022.

Z33 is one of the three Belgian nominees. The list of all contenders can be found on the website of the Mies van der Rohe Award.
